You know me—I love new gadgets! But I never pack one until it proves itself worthy of suitcase space. On our recent trip to Italy, I tested three new finds. Some surprised me, some fell short, and one unexpected “honorable mention” totally stole the show. Here’s my full Gadget Girl report.
💇♀️ Travel Curling Iron
Travel Curling Iron on Amazon This little tool caught my eye because it’s tiny but powerful. In Italy, it was super easy to plug in thanks to the dual voltage. The catch? It’s very short. When they say “mini,” they mean it! My long hair made it tough to use, so it probably won’t travel with me again. That said, if you have short hair, this could be your perfect packable styling tool.
🍫 GoTubb One-Handed Containers
GoTubb on Amazon These clever little containers absolutely won me over. They open with one hand, never leaked, and were the perfect size for snacks and toiletries. I used them daily—tossing them in my backpack and toiletries bag without a second thought. They’ve officially earned a spot in my “always pack these” kit.
📱 Perilogics Universal Travel Phone Holder 2.0
Perilogics Phone Holder on Amazon George is a big fan of watching movies on his phone during flights, but he hates holding it at weird angles. This gadget clamped neatly onto the airplane tray table and kept his screen at the perfect height. It’s fully adjustable, easy to pack, and made the long flight much more comfortable. I didn’t use it for selfies this time, but the option’s there if you want it.
🌞 Honorable Mention: My Neck Fan
This wasn’t new, but wow—did it save me! Rome and Sorrento were much hotter than forecast, and while the fan didn’t exactly cool me off, it kept me comfortable. George joked, “You were still hot, just not mad about it!” 😆 This little workhorse will forever have a place in my suitcase. Click here for neck fan
Closing Note:Gadgets are all about making travel smoother, lighter, and more fun. For Italy, my GoTubbs and neck fan were the MVPs. The curling iron? Better for short-haired travelers. The phone holder? A flight-friendly win. And that’s the beauty of being Gadget Girl—testing until only the best make the list!
